No ISO?

Thread needs solution

Downloaded eval version, surprised to find that the only way to get going is installing a 300 Mb windows app.

Being backup software, I'm led to believe that one can run a live cd backup. Why not let me download the ISOs for these tools directly? Is this a Windows-app-or-else deal?

If you register your trial serial # at Acronis.com, you'll then be able to download a trial ISO.

The paid Windows app allows you to create bootable CDs or USB flash drives that work without Windows.

The trial recovery CD will only allow a restore. Backups and clones not permitted with booting from the trial Recovery CD.

You can create backups using the Windows version.
You can boot from the ISO to see if it recognizes all your hardware.
That seems sufficient for evaluation.

As I'm sure you know, if the ISO were unrestricted to allow all functions, you wouldn't need to buy the program.
