No Option to Log On To Incoming Server for E-mail Notifications in TIH 2011

Thread needs solution

In TIH 2010, I had the option when setting up email notifications to check the box to Log On To Incoming Server to enter the user name and password required to use my smtp server. In TIH 2011, that option does not appeard on the screen, despite being mentioned in the Help tes and the PDF Documentation. Anyone else encountered this issue?

A job that was carried over when I upgraded to 2011 from 2010 still works fine despite the lack of the checkbox, but a new job I am setting up today will not successfully send a test email.

Hello Kevin,

Thank you for posting and welcome to our forum. I will certainly help you with resolving this issue.

You are absolutely correct, this option is indeed mentioned in the User Guide but it was removed from our software because SMTP autentification with SSL encryption can be used instead. I am very sorry for the inconvenience, I will update our Web team to correct this error.

In the meantime, I would like to ask you for two sets of screenshots so that I can resolve the e-mail notifications issue. 1 set from the "migrated" 2010 task and the new one. You can send them to me via a private message.

If you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you.

The screen shots were sent via private message. As you can see, they are identical but only the migrated job sends a successful test message. I tried changing the encryption mode to SSL and TLS, but neither generated a successful test message either. Time Warner Cable's Road Runner internet service will only allow me to use their SMTP server, and they still require the login to the email account to validate. Your help is appreciated.

I have a similar problem in that I can't get SMTP autentification with SSL encryption to function and get 'Failed to send. Network error.' message.

All was well with Home 2010 when it was possible to enter the incoming server details. I have tried all possible combinations on the email notification setup screen in Home 2011 and no joy.

Can you help?

I worked with Anton and after some troubleshooting he did provide a work-around that involved manually editing a script file and adding back the missing parameter. He indicated the workaround would be made public, and I think working with him is much better than me trying to walk you through it. But the functionality can be restored.

Thanks for getting back to me, Kevin.

What's the protocol?

Should I wait until Anton contacts me through this forum or send a private message to him?

Hello Kevin and David,

Thank you for your posts.

Kevin, I am glad that it is working for you.

David, I will definitely help you with this issue.

In order to resolve it, I would really appreciate if you could send me a private message with the following information:

1. Screenshot of your e-mail notification settings screen.

2. The build number of Acronis True Image 2011 Home that you are using.

3. AcronisInfo report.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Hi all,

I’m having the same issue, I downloaded the trail today (Jan 28 2011) and he issue is still there. If there is a fix I’s like to know where to download it or a script to fix it.
