No USB drive when using Rescue Media Creator

Thread needs solution

Using ATI 2013 6514 Rescue Media Builder after a clean install I only get options for CD/DVD drive and ISO image even though the USB flash drive is recognized in the backup/recovery part of the program.
I have had no issues with ATI 10/11 in the past, not sure why now.
Thanks in advance...Dave

Try a different USB port and/or a different drive.

So, ATI does not like SanDisk? I tried with a Kingston and it worked fine ,both same size, both formatted with the same tool ???

I didn't say that. It could be that SanDisk doesn't like ATI. Many strange interactions can occur in Windows.

Is that one of the SanDisk drives that includes on-board utilities or a special partition?
How is it formatted, NTFS or FAT32?

It had a folder of documentation but nothing that autoloaded, formatted it FAT32 with HP tool.

I have same problem with it not recognizing a Toshiba Canvio Basics 1T usb hard drive. Formatted as FAT32 as required.
Does not show up on available drive options, just show ISO and CD. Not usb devices.

If you are using this disk for storage of backups, the FAT32 file system will split the tib files at 4GB each.

You need a NTFS file system to limit the backup to only one large file.

How are you connected. Try using a USB2 cable or connector.

The Toshiba 1T USB hard drive comes with it own cable.

Every other piece of software can access the drive. Not problems there.
I just does not show up in the options.
Just for kick, I inserted two different USB memory sticks, both were recognized.
Also tried a different model Toshible USB drive, and it does not show up either.
