Non Stop Back Up Causes BSOD
The Non Stop Back Up feature is constantly causing my processor to run at 100% but now with the latest build 5.9.3.6238 it's also causing the Blue Screen of Death and Hard Drive is replicating data. I've gone from 300 GB of free space to 40 GB to 40 MB in under an hour.
I restored to a previous state and turned off the the Non Stop Back Up and my problems disappeared. In my opinion it's an absolutely brilliant feature with an horrific functionality. Anyone have any idea how to get this feature working properly.

I have a similar...but different problem. I can start non-stop backup. But when I checkup on how it's doing, it is inactive. When I inactivate it, it immediately goes to a blue screen. I'm running build 7046 of the 2010 True Image product on Windows 7 Enterprise on a Lenovo T61.
Thanks,
Bob

I just purchased TI Home 2010 and non stop backup crashes my notebook too.
System comes up clean and nonstop backup starts (icon in tray, message on hover).
After about 5min nonstop backup stops. Upon manual restart via icon my machine immediately crashes.
(garbled display, then bluescreen)
Not a nice start, I have to say ...

Hello all!
Thank you for finding time to contact us via Forum and report about the issue.
I'm glad to inform you that we have designed a fix for the issue!
BSOD problem was caused by crash in snapman.sys. This is reported to be fixed in the next releaze, and for current version we have updated snapapi drivers. I will send you the fix in a minute via PM, please, let me know if I missed someone and someone didn't receive my message.
This issue is very important for us, so we would highly appreciate if you could kindly get back to us and let us know whether this fix worked for you.
Thank you!

Unfortunately the new driver (545) didn't solve the problem for me - still BSOD. Trying to get the memory dump, but that failed the last 3 times I tried.

I have a very similar problem.
Occasionally I can start Non-Stop backup. But regularly it stops itself.
When I activate it, it almost immediately goes to a blue screen. I was running an older build so I upgraded to 7046 of the 2010 True Image product on Windows XP. BSODs just got worse.
Often the error codes were: 0X0000007E citing fltmgr.sys,
or 0X0000007E with nothing cited.
or 0X00000024 again citing fltmgr.sys
BSODs only happen when trying to start or check on True Image.
fltmgr is a microsoft service, no reason to think there was any problem there & no recent changes.
Situation so unstable I did an uninstall.
Then I had to search the forums to find out how to actually uninstall the program completely.
Only then did the random BSODS stop. System stable for weeks now.
Has anyone found a solution? Or should I just try to get my money back?

I have the same problem on my Vista 64 machine. Non stop stops working and activating causes BSOD. I have used Acronis for many years, is it me or is the software getting less and less stable? I have been looking for a solution to this problem which has apparently been around a while and there is non.

I'm pretty sure my issue is related to what is covered in this thread.
I routinely find that non-stop backup has stopped. When this happens, any attempt to restart non-stop backup results in a BSOD. Further, when I restart my machine (or shutdown Windows) after the non-stop backup has stopped I get a BSOD almost every time.
My OS is Windows 7 Professional 64bit. I'm runnng the lastest release of TI Home 2010.

I reinstalled Acronis True Image 2010 build 7046. Then immediately ran the SnapAPI.545_s_e.msi update. Started NonStop Backup and it has been running fine for a day or so now. Thanks!

I installed the SnapAPI and after that, the BSOD went away and all was well...for about a month. Then, all of a sudden, NSB just turns itself off. I give up!

Glenn,
Where/how did you get the SnapAPI update?
Thanks.

Nevermind. Sunday TI NSB just started turning itself off. Then Wed BSODs when running unrelated tasks.
Same type of filtermgr error x24 etc.
Hmm, that's different. Machine/properties/hardware has that a USB drivers can't start?
I'm going to leave TI turned off and see if the BSODs continue.
Looks like I'm uninstalling all over again.

I am experiencing the same error on 2 different Windows 7 installs. Basically the Acronis product is not doing what it is supposed to do. Is there a fix, or can I get my money back for the 2 copies I have?
0x0000007e immediately when trying to start nonstop backup, on both 64bit and 32bit Windows 7.
Please advise. Thank you.

From Yana, a moderater. Don't know why they don't post it permanantly, but they sent me a 'good for five link'. Didn't work.

Does Acronis monitor this forum? Can someone please send me the fix or a refund for 2 copies of Acronis Home 2010?

Steve,
Good luck. It seems this forum is moderated by Acronis the same way a lot of other technical support cases/forums are handled; quick/easy solutions are provided, and when they don't resolve the issue the support providers go silent in hopes that those in need simply give up. For me specifically, I was "tossed the bone" (given the solution) of installing updated SnapAPI drivers which were supposed to eliminate the BSOD (although not necessarily resolve the issue with NSB stopping). In my case, installation of the new drivers resulted in a bigger problem so I reverted back to the old ones and now I simply don't attempt to restart NSB when it stops. Of course, this means NSB isn't working but at least my machine doesn't crash.
I'm sure we can expect the 2011 version of the product to be released soon, and with it the promise that it resolves our issues. All we will have to do to (supposedly) get a product that works the way ATIH 2010 was marketed to work is fork over the money to upgrade.
I'm sure you'll hear plenty from Acronis (sales/marketing) once that product is available.

What program is shown against the STOP 0x0000007E message?
On Vista systems, one thing that can cause this is the Sleep driver, either it interferes with other programs running or the other programs intefere with it.
With Windows 7 it can be caused by USB drives or by the GPU being overworked.
To find out exactly which low level driver is causing the problem the actual message shown alongside the stop error number needs to be posted.
The SNAPAPI drivers are available from the Acronis Knowledge Base. I've the link at home so I'll post it later.

Windows 7 32 it and 64 bit, 2 different systems. USB drive is not even being used, it occurs when I hit start continuous backup.
Where is the link for the fix ( I will try the fix), if it does not fix the issue, I will pursue a refund from Customer Service.
Thanks.

What driver is reported alongside the stop message?
Are there any coinciding events in WEM?
First check to see if your SNAPAPI drive is v380 or later, if it is then you've the latest version for 2010.
Other things you can try is to disable the T&D service in Services.msc.

All info related to the bluescreen is posted below, it occurs as soon as I try to turn on non-stop backup.

How do I check this? No idea what SNAPAPI Drive is or where to check it?

What is the T&D Service? I did not find anything that looked like that in services.
Thanks.

Has there been any progression on this issue?
I still have BSOD issue (when I try to click NSB on) and have no idea how to find
SNAPAPI drive is v380 or later
Tried to search on Acronis Forum but it keeps hanging on me.

JonL wrote:< have no idea how to find

SnapAPI is found at C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis\SnapAPI\snapapi.dll
Snapman.sys is at C:\Windows\System32\drivers
Right click on the file names in Windows Explorer and select the details tab. The file version will appear there.

I also have this problem. Non-stop backup starts with windows and runs a short time. Then it is inactive. When I try to re-activate it, it immediately goes to a blue screen. I'm running True Image home 2011 on Windows 7.
When the problem can not be fixxed soon I want to change the backup-program.
Thanks,
Hans

Hans,
When you get the Blue Screen, are the numbers the same as Steve's or different?
