Nonstop backup stops and never restarts

Thread needs solution

I have been trying to use the nonstop backup with only limited success as it keeps stopping and never restarts. The backup works fine for a week or two or until I reboot my laptop. After that it stops and never restarts and the tray icon always shows the the non stop backup is stopped. If I use the start option on the tray icon I then shows that it's preparing a backup, then spawns True Image backup (arrow icon in the icon tray) which always show 0% complete. After several hours the True Image icon disappears after creating/overwriting an "image1.data" file in the hidden backup folder. The only way I seem to be able to get the nonstop backup to start working again is to delete the backup and re-create it. Which then works for awhile and then stops again. Also sometimes when this happens I am also unable to open the main application.

Any help on how to keep the nonstop backup running will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Terry

PS: I backing up approximately 2TB onto a 4TB drive.
Using Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit and the latest version on True Image 2015

I am having this same problem, backing up to a network location. It completes the first backup, runs for a day or two, then stops and won't restart. I just did a full format and reinstallation of Win8.1 x64 and have the same problem. I found this https://kb.acronis.com/content/32417#Collect_information but it didn't help. I guess I'll give them a few days to help me, but then I'm submitting for a refund.

What antivirus are you using? Mine is Eset. I am starting to worry that might be the problem, because I just temporarily disabled the AV and now my continuous backup starts again.

I'm using AVG. I just created a new backup, again, and it's now running. When it stops again I'll try stopping AVG and see what happens.

Well it's stopped working, again, and stopping AVG doesn't help getting it to restart. It always stops when the 4tb drive is half full. Sorting the backup folder by timestamps it appears that it stopped just working after 12:00am. I assume that is when it does all of its maintenance.

I think it's now time I started looking for other backup software as I can't have backups failing all the time. Acronis used to be good once, but now it just keeps going down hill.

Mine stopped again too. I did a live chat with tech support where they remotely accessed my PC for an hour and they only got it to work by changing my backup from "Entire PC" to individual drives. The next day, that stopped too. I went ahead and got a refund. At this point I don't trust it, even if they could fix it. I'm preparing for disaster recovery, not some scenario where "it might be nice if my backups worked"

I'm doing a backup of each partition. So it doesn't matter what type of backup you do it still hangs. I like to know what backup software you finally decide to use as I'm currently looking around for new software. So far "Rollback Rx" looks OK.

It appears that "Rollback Rx" won't do what I want. After reading reviews it appears it will only backup the primary partition. I have 3 partitions on my primary hard disk and 4 usb drives to backup. Back on the hunt again for new backup software.
