Not enough disk space on target disk

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I am using Acronis True Image Home 2011 on Windows 7 64 bit.

Acronis True Image Home 2011 tell's me, that backups were not successfull since there was not enough empty space on my backup disk.

If I look onto my backup disk, I find serveral folders, among them these tree:

"My Backups"
"[Windows Name of my Computer]"
"Windows Image Backup"

Bevor installing and using Acronis True Image Home 2011 I used to back up using Windows 7 own backup function. I am gessing, that "[Windows Name of my Computer]" as well as "Windows Image Backup" are from Windows Backup, not from Acronis True Image Home 2011. Ist that correct?

However, these folders contain files dated yesterday! Is Windows Backup still active? If yes, how can I turn it off? (When I start Windows Backup it seems that rather Acronis True Image Home is starting ...)

Provided I configured Acronis True Image Home correctly: any reason why I should not delete the folders "[Windows Name of my Computer]" as well as "Windows Image Backup"?

You support is greatly appreciated,

Til,

To disable the Windows Backup, launch ATI, go to help > settings > integrate into windows, uncheck the backup control panel integration. Close ATI. Open the control panel, you should now see Windows backup. Cancel the backup. Then relaunch ATI, go back to the settings to check the integration if you want.
I recommend you use 2 backups, one with ATI, one with Windows. They don't need to be at the same frequency. Even better: run one backup on a disk, store the disk away, run a daily/weekly backup on another disk.

I run 2 backups. I run Windows 7 backup once a week, I don't keep any history of this backup. I run ATI every day, and keep about 1 month worth of backups. From time to time, I copy the ATI backup to another disk that I take offsite.

Hey Pat,

thanks a lot!

Yes, will have Windows Backup backing up once a week.
