Notebook does not boot after restoring Windows 7 System

Thread needs solution

Hello Guys!

I’m testing Acronis True Image Home 11.O.O.8027 on a new Notebook Acer Extensa 5630 EZ including Operating System Win. 7 Home Premium 64 Bit.

There is a new problem, I have never had before.

The Acer has the following partitions under Win 7:

Wiederherstellungspartition 11,72 GB (ohne Laufwerksbuchstaben)
System Reserved (ohne Laufwerksbuchstaben) nur 100 MB aktiv, primär
Acer (C: ) 80 GB Startpartition primär
Daten (D: ) 57,22 GB logisches LW

But booting from the „Bootable Acronis Rescue Media CD“ there ist
the following HDD arrangement:

System Reserved (C:) 100 MB primär, aktiv
Acer (D: ) 80 GB primär
Daten (E: ) 57,22 GB
PQ Service 11,72 GB pri.

I startet from the Acronis Rescue Media CD created an Image und than restored
Partiton D: to D: with the same parameters.

During next boot I got a black screen with white letters:

“Windows Start Manager

Mistake during starting Windows. Because of changings in
Hardware- oder Software.
So you may solve the problem:

1.) Insert Win DVD.
2.) Select Language.
3.) Click repair Computer

Status 0xc0000225
Info: Mistake at start selection. Access on Hardware not possible.

What is wrong?? Please write in simple English?

Santo:

You may have restored the data partition to the wrong location on the disk.

Windows and Linux list drive letters differently. The Acronis Rescue Media CD runs Linux.

On Windows, D: is your Daten partition (57,22 GB)
On Linux, D: is the Windows 7 partition, Acer (80 GB)

If you restored D: to D: then you restored a copy of the Data partition to the Windows partition.

To fix, repeat the restore. This time, ignore the drive letters. Restore the 80 GB Windows partition from the image file to the 80 GB partition on the disk. Restore the partition as "Primary".
