Now always told "Reboot is required" when cloning disk

Thread needs solution

Ever since TI 2009, I've been cloning a data disk (not C drive) to another disk, about monthly, always done while win7 was running. All of a sudden, I'm told "Reboot is required". If I do the reboot, the clone is fine, but wish I could continue to continue working on windows during the lengthy clone.

I'm currently running TI 2011-6597, ran the original 2011 release, even restored an old TI 2010 image that I know for sure ran while win7 was running. I haven't changed any hardware, cloning the same source disk, tried different destination drives, same result, am totally baffled. I don't think it's a s/w problem, as I can get the same results with multiple versions of TI.

I really wish I could clone while win7 is running, does anyone have any ideas? Is there a list of conditions that require a reboot during a disk clone?

Thanks,
Norm
