now : image home 11 -> image 2010 for Win7 ultimate 64-bit : can I upgrade

Thread needs solution

I'm using true ilage home 11 on XP and will in the near future install (fresh install) windiws 7 ultimate 64-bit.
Can I upgrade from 11 to version to 2010 (this version is needed to run on Win7)?
How? For free?

You should be able to see the upgrade link when you log into your Acronis account and look at your registered TI 11 section.

You can also just buy the upgrade version from the Acronis website. When installing, it will ask for both the TI 11 key and the TI 2010 key.

The upgrade isn't free.

All I have as link is an upgrade to TI 2009 Home
perhaps after this upgrade I can upgrade again.
But isn't it wiser (cheaper) to buy 2010 instead ?

add. question : are images (backups) made with TI 11 readable by TI 2010 ?

I didn't think Acronis was still selling TI 2009. My account only shows the TI 2010 upgrade.

You might want to try the trial version of TI 2010 first and see if you like it and if it works properly for you.

Acronis only officially supports images created one version back, but usually there isn't a problem with images older than that. Whichever version you try, validate your TI 11 images and see if it says they're okay. You could also try Mounting and Exploring them.
