The number of versions of my backup displayed under backup is more than the number that I set it for....

Thread needs solution

Under backup & recovery, all of my backups are displaying more than the number I set them for. I set all of them to incremental backups creating a full version after every 30 incremental versions. For the old version cleanup rule it is set to delete version chains older than 30 days. I thought this would give me one full backup with 30 backups of the changes. So I thought the number of versions would be 30 or 31. Some of them say 74 versios. What am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance for your help!

Version chains include the original full backup and the associated incremental backup files.
The version chain (as a set) will not be older than 30 days until 30 days has passed from the date of the last incremental backup contained in the version chain.
