old backup

Thread needs solution

I have a usb drive with a backup image done with win8 backup system. now that I've purchased acronis TI 2014 I want to backup with it of course. Do I need to delete the old backup or will TI just over write what's on there now. If I do need to delete the data how do I go about that? Surely I wouldn't have to right click every folder and hit delete, would I? If I just plug the drive into the usb port windows backup automatically starts up and starts backing up new files from the file history. how can I just plug it in not have win backup start working so I can delete old backup? If I could plug it in and make it be still for a moment, delete backup and then start up TI 2014, I'd be happy. Maybe I'm overthinking this. I just don't know.

One rule many of "ol timers" practice is to never to delete an old backups until space demands or there is no other choice.

Become familiar with TrueImage. Do some backup and restores, etc. Perhaps you might even want to add a 2nd disk for backups.

TrueImage will not overwrite your backup. Your settings tells TrueImge where to store the backup files so it is you who dictates where they are stored. YOu shold be able to go to the storage folder of the Windows backups and perform a few deletes of files but I am not a win8 users.
