One-Click Protection ONLY in TI Home 2009
XP Home; 160gb hard drive (125gb free), 2gb RAM. Backing up to 250gb external hardrive.
I have been using Acronis TI for several years. Current version is Home 2009. Until about three months ago, I was able to make a full backup OR an incremental backup. Differential backup did not work and I discovered through a lengthy search of the Knowledge Base, etc. that is a "known issue" with Home 2009. In other words, one cannot make a differential backup with TI Home 2009, according to Acronis' own information (Knowledge Base Article 2712).
The most recent development is I can ONLY make a FULL backup, using "One-Click Protection." Nothing else works. Needless to say, this is a very time-consuming option. With any other option, after clicking through the wizard windows, nothing happens. No "Operation Progress" window appears and nothing changes in the "Operation Status" bar.
To further aggravate the issue, if I click the minimize symbol on the "Operation Progress" window, it does NOT minimize, it disappears and the operation cancels!!! No information under any tabs/options on how to get it back.
Uninstalled and reinstalled the program (which required me to find and provide my key). No change. Nothing in helps/manual addresses this issue. NO SUPPORT. Acronis' only solution is buy an upgraded version. Fat chance.
Nice concept gone bad.
It is infuriating to pay for a product then have the company refuse to offer free support when it is their program that is malfunctioning. When I buy a program I want to USE it not spend hours troubleshooting and reading "Knowledge Base" articles. I'm done with Acronis.
