Online backup calculating for hours
I just started using TIH 2011 to replace Norton Ghost. All the local backup works fine. However, I have been trying to get about 175 GB of data backed up online for the past three weeks. The files I selected on my C: drive appear to have been backed up. However, when it comes to my G: drive, which has music files and downloaded software files, I have started to have many hours of TIH "Calculating" and not backing up. The total being backed up is only 50 GB.
Is this due to the size of the individual files or some other problem? I have run chkdsk on my G: drive to make sure there are no disk problem. All is okay. My internet service provider is Cox and I am not aware of any upload problems or slowdowns.
I am aware of the other threads in this forum regarding longstanding problems with Acronis online backup. I would like to hear whether you solved this particular perpetual "calculating" problem in Online Backup.

Same problem here. Tried your suggestion but hasn't solved my issue. Online Backup seems to stall on "calculating".

Hello,
In my case I've had the case where online backup is saying calculating but looking at my router output it is sending data at the max of my output bandwith.
I've already loaded 50Gb of jpeg files and have started an other 50Gb of Tif files (between 20/30 MB).
Seems that it is working correctly except that the web interface says that I've still 250GB free and 0GB used. Strange.
I've tried a restore via the web and it is working, it is slow, it max ar 600 KB/s (my line allows 1.4MB/s) and according my router graph stops (0 kb/s) every 2 seconds. But at the end I can open the files.

I am trying to run Non Stop Backup and it appears to be hung up on Calculating Estimated Backup Size during the configuration of the process.
Please advise if it is a known problem.

After reading this thread, I had to go check for myself.
I too have been seeing nothing but, "Calculating". However, the amount of data backed up always kept increasing in ATI2011 so I assume it was just a display error and that it was really backing up in the background.
However, if I go to the web interface, it's telling me that I'm using 0 bytes and have 250GB of free space. But at the same time, all my files are there. I can browse through them and download them. They're there. ATI2011 reports that 12GB of data has been uploaded, the web interface says 0 bytes are used, but the files are there and available.
I don't know what's going on...

Same problem. It is even not possible to shut down the PC the nice way. Calculating job keeps on running.

Hello Anthony,
Thank you for your posting! Are you backing up to Cloud, network share or a local storage? To locolize the issue, please disable Volume Shadow Copy service for your backup plan as descrived here and test a backup. Does the issue persist? If the backup hangs only while using the Cloud storage, please make sure all necessary ports are open. You can use our Cloud Connection Verification Tool (use AcronisCloudUS2Check.exe for your datacenter).
Thank you,
