Online backup errors out - SSL_Read 0x009800C8+0x0000FFF0+0x00000000

Thread needs solution

Online backup was working, but I haven't been able to back-up for the last few days. I looked on the kb and didn't see anything regarding these errors.

Windows 7 Home Premium, Qwest DSL over wireless N connection, ATI 2010 Build 6053.

Logs of running two separate attempts attached.

Me too. My event log shows SSL_read and is followed by a Request timeout expired entry.

Also running Windows 7 Home Premium. I did an online chat to get this resolved, but that was a waste of time as the support person said there is no bug with the program and sent me some links to remedial guides for the online backup.

Something tells me this is a problem with Windows 7 and the SSL certificate generated to conduct the backup. I know I have had problems with Windows 7 discarding self-signed certificates from the certificate store.

Hello all!

Thank you for finding time to open the thread regarding this issue, I completely understand your concern and will be glad to assist you!

Actually there are no issues with SSL and Windows 7.

The error < message="Request timeout expired."> points on the issue with accessing our servers. That is the problem on our end: we are improving performance at the moment, and by the end of the week this issue should be fixed as well. We already improvied it, but still sometimes you can meet this error.

I sincerely regret you met this issue and would like to bring you our apologies for the inconvenience caused. I really appreciate your understanding and patience. Please be sure we are working hard on providing the best performance and stability of the servers, and soon this problem will be finally fixed.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you once again for understanding and patience.

Things do seem to be improving. I still get a lot of "Request timeout expired" errors, but the process generally does seem to complete most of the time.

Yana, I occasionally receive the SSL_read error using XP but the backup appears to complete successfully (see attached).
It would be prefereable if it was flagged as a warning if it isn't fatal, then I wouldn't get a big red block in the calendar indicating that the whole job had failed.

Dear Tom and Bin!

Thank you for your kind comments.

Tom, it is highly upsetting to know that you still receive "Request timeout expired" errors - we are working on fixing it right now. But I'm glad to know that you have noticed improvements - it means that we're working in a right direction!

Bin, thank you for your reasonable suggestion - since this error doesn't affect the backup status it would be more convenient to have it flagged. I have just forwarded your comments to the Management team to take an action on it, so hopefully we will be able to change the design soon to avoid further confusion.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you.

When I make a back up finished, I get the message:
6 Warning error 11 (ox64008)
priority changed to Low priority

How can I change to Normal or High priority ????
best wishes
Bent

When I want to reinstall a backup, I get the following message:
This is not the last created volume of the backup archive. Please insert the last created volume to start working with this archive
or
The selected file is not an Achronis True Image Home archive or the file is corrupted. Please select another file

What have I done wrong ???

Double-check your firewall settings. I had some issues and then added TrueImageMonitor.exe to be allow through my windows firewall and it is working for me now.

Hello Darrell
Thank for your replay. I have now added TrueImage to be allowed througt my Windows firewall. I hope it is the problem
Thanks
Bent

Hello Darrell

Hello Bent,

I may recommend you to check Windows Firewall settings once again since there may be some changes after, for example, installation of some Windows updates.

Please reply to this thread if the issue still persists.

Thank you.
