Online Backup Not Working Properly with ATIH 2012
I just upgraded two computers to ATIH2012 today. Both had data that had been backed up online via the ATIH 2011 interface and dedicated AOB shortcut. Finally managed to get logged in and Online Backup reports the two computer names, but says they have not been backed up yet. Tried to download and install the latest AOB Build 4139, but that refused to install stating it was incompatible with ATIH2012.
I had over 18 GB (actually more space shown as used, due to interrupted backups) of data stored online from the two computers, which took days to upload at 532 Kbits/sec. I am not going to be a happy ATIH2012 user if all of my online data is now inaccessible.
Please don't tell me to uninstall and reinstall. The Acronis Installation documentation is quite clear that no uninstall is required to upgrade. No errors were reported during the install.
First impressions are that ATIH2012 has its problems! What else is new, for those of us who have suffered through ATIH2011?
Suggestions, anybody, other than an uninstall/reinstall?
Thank you. Have a great day.
Regards,
-Phil

Marc: Looks like we both have the same problem. I checked my Acronis Online Backup Account and it showed my two computer online backups (one at 20 GB and the other at 8 GB) which is what they were, although the 20 GB backup has about 8 GB inaccessible because of interrupted backups. So I can recover my data from the online account, but I can't see it or update from the ATIH2012 interface.
If anyone from Tech Support is reading this post, this bug needs fixing, or a workaround at least, fast.
Thank you.

You can ad a 3rd person to the list. It seems like my online backups from the past are not recognized by the program. I am currently also unable to see them online AND my original backup settings (what to backup) and schedule are gone.
I know that Technical Support is busy with the new release but this is a problem that must be addressed soon.
Thanks - Gordon.

Previous problems are related by ATI 2011 not working in ATI 2012.
My problem is with backups made with ATI 2012 Online backup :
I made a 50 GIGs backup, took more then a month. Now, I am adding a new set of files to it and ATI 2012 reports that I have only 1% in use ????
I go directly to their Inetre site and log in, go to my files that are stored there and I can access all 50 GIGs of files, restore them and see all of them.
The report in usage even there is showing 1% of use. I my understanding, 50 GIGs of data is 20% of 250 GIGs.
If I go and check inside the backup settings of my program at home, I edit those settings and there also, it shows 1% of use.
In this matter, etheir I have now for free an access of 5000 GIGs (50Gigs= 1 %) or my data is ther for a while before their server takes in account that I have only 2.5 GIGs of data rightfully there (1% of 250 GIGs=2.5 GIGs).
Now to add to this strange saga, I would have to pay for incident to report that mess because there is no real way to get to report ATI's bugs, except to expose this bug to every one like in this forum and irritate futher customers or consolidate existing customers that they bought a software with problems.
I think ATI is a rather good program with an awfull way of doing business and customer care !
With their Pay for incident and their "Your support period is now ended", the only thing somebody will do with this is turn around and look elsewhere...
Sad, because during the period I was allowed to report bugs and work with tech down there, they did a terrific job correcting important stuff and collaborating till the issue was over. They even call me from India to Montreal to have a real follow up that lead to success in relasing ATI 2012 with a major step up in network backup.
I think, they shoud have at least a place for intering bugs for user to avoid this Forum of frustrations !
P.S. they will report me here as a beginner, well I am not. I have been in developing and beta testing for companies such as Steinberg Audio and I now when a program as a good potential like ATI but I can be sure of me when locate a bug...

Hello Claude,
Thank you for your comments.
We will need to investigate this issue, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.
We offer technical support for the duration of the online backup subscription. When you go through the support wizard, instead of Acronis True Image Home please select Acronis Online backup. You will then have the options to contact us via chat, e-mail or phone.
If you need additional help please contact me directly.
Thank you.

Hi,
Forgot to tell that this situation started after where the Acronis server was impossible to reach (at least for me) for a few days, last week.
Thanks for a rapid answer to this,

This looks very like the same problem I have experienced when uninstalling and then reinstalling ATIH2012 with a new serial number.
I wonder if it is something to do with the server not recognising that the upgraded (or in my case reinstalled) PC is the same one that "owns" the existing backup? Instead it thinks the PC is a different one that the subscriber owns? (See my own posts for a better explanation of my theory).

Forget it. Not worth the effort for something that will break again a week or two later. Since I made that post last year, my backup has disappeared completely. Can't even recover anything. I will definitely not renew.
