Only one serial number with Acronis True Image Home 2012 Family Pack

Thread needs solution

Recently purchased Acronis True Image Home 2012 Family Pack but it only has one serial number. Is this correct?
Acronis True Image Home 2012 Plus Pack has three serial numbers.
Acronis Disk Director 2011 Family Pack has three serial numbers.

I bought the same two family packs just 5 days ago.
I got:
3 separate license keys for True Image 2012
3 separate license keys for True Image 2012 Plus Pack
3 separate license keys for Disk Director 11
Hope this helps...

Reading your posts I find this interesting and look forward to learning how this plays out.
I purchased the 3-user family pack also and only received one serial number. I have not installed it yet so the expected result is unknown.

Bruce

As written above I got 3 separate license keys each for True Image Home 2012, for the Plus Pack and finally for Disk Director 11.
Since I'm always very curious in how these things really work, I simply tried out:
- Installing True Image Home 2012 on different machines using the same key will fail (something like "key is already used")
- Installing True Image Home 2012 on the same machine, but on several partitions, works well using the same key however (very fine for multi-boot users like me)
- Installing Disk Director works fine on different machines even using the same key, since there seem to be no activation process.
(however of course this would be a violation of the license terms)

Hi Phillip and Bruce, have to correct my former comments:

just had a talk to a technical representative via life chat and it turned out, that - for some reason that I don't know - in fact I received 3 single licenses although I've ordered and payed for socalled family packs. So probably there is no problem at all, if you both have received just one license key with the family pack!!

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your comments.

The term family pack currently applies to the special bundle of Acronis True Image 2012 Home, where one serial number can be used to install the program on three computers. The Plus Pack add-on and other programs are sold as standard licenses, meaning one license per machine. Just in case, we have additional information available here and if you need addition help please let me know.

Thank you.

Hello,

I purchased acronis 2012 about a week ago, I got a new machine loaded it up and off I went. a week later I foramtted my old lap top and got it togeather and loaded my acronis on it but I did not know it was a 1 license. Fair enough, logg in and looked for an option to buy another license being an existing client recect and I found the family pack, which was $80 for new or 29.95 as an upgrade.

I purchased this, I went to imput the serail number and it ask for the original serial number also when putting the up grade number in. So I put in the newly purchased 2012 key plus the upgrade but it does not work. It replies (The specific serial number us in correct. Please retype it or install a trial version etc) that being the 2012 key previous key is no correct.

I then downloaded the trail and tried the upgrade key, but no go. When you purchase the upgrade, it appears pretty straight forward and forward thinking, it does not say its specific on the upgrade from? What am I doing wrong? anyone ?

thank you...

Surfersix,
YOu need to contact customer service. This cannot be answered by the forum.

The upgrade is from an old version to the current version. You cannot upgrade from 2012 to 2012 but I am reasonably sure they will give you credit for the upgrade toward a 2nd license.
