Operation completed with errors MFT bitmap corrupt
I have the latest build of ATIH2011 (build 6857) and have configured a C: drive backup to my NAS. The backup is configured as a "version chain" and to date 3 backups have completed, 2 full and 1 incremental. On the 4th backup the operation fails with the following message:
1 Information 6/06/2011 7:51:49 AM Operation System disk started.
2 Information 6/06/2011 7:51:50 AM Analyzing partition '0-0'...

MFT bitmap corrupted (0x70018)

13 Error 6/06/2011 7:53:11 AM Operation has completed with errors.
I checked the backup using "validate" which came up ok, and then to test the backups I already had, "consolidated" the versions, which also completed ok.
This seems to suggest there is nothing wrong with the archives I have, but when I run the backup operation again, I get the same error message.
All my other scheduled backup tasks are completing ok, including backing up the same system disk to ASZ.
Does anyone have any ideas on this one?
Best regards
Mike Parfitt

Pat,
Thank you for that, that did indeed fix the problem.
I am not sure what chkdsk found wrong (the screen disappeared too quickly), but clearly something was wrong!!!!
Thanks again for the very speedy reply.
