Operation has completed with errors
Seems like no matter what kind of backup I try, I immediately get "Operation has completed with errors". Then it tells me to look at the log which is empty. I am trying to backup my C: drive to my D: drive. Simple enough. Why doesn't it work and why is there no tech support for this product?

I'm using verstion 10.0 build 4,942. I tried doing the backup when booted to the TI CD. It shows my SATA drive but won't let me back up my IDE drive to it. I get invalid path error message.

Have you tried the quiet acpi=off noapic option detailed in Section II of the Read Before You Post thread?
Otherwise, have you tried the Safe Mode version of TI 10?

No response in a week from Acronis on a simple SATA drive question. Looks like I bought yet another useless backup application.

12 days and still no response from Acronis tech support

Did the Safe Mode version give the same error message? Were both drives seen?
Have you checked if either of the drives has any file system errors (chkdsk /f)?
Do you get the problem only when attempting to backup the IDE to the SATA? For example, does backing up to a USB drive work?

Hello all,
Thank you very much for all your posts. I would like to apologize for not replying earlier, however I will definitely assist you.
MudCrab, thank you very much for your help!
David Wojcik,
I shall send you a PM with a download link for the ISOLINUX version of our bootable media together with instructions for burning it to a CD or DVD. It is very likely that the bootable media that you created with Acronis True Image 10 Home does not have the drivers for your SATA drives.
I would also very much like to see why the backup is failing with errors in Windows. Can you kindly reply to my PM and attach a copy of the AcronisInfo report?
Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with.
Thank you.

The instructions for downloading ISOLINUX are incorrect on your web site. The site does not behave as indicated. Attached is the zip file you requested.

Hello David Wojcik,
Thank you very much for getting back to me.
I found errors on the FAT16 hard drive, can you please let me know if you are backing up this drive as well? I would recommend performing a chkdsk /r on it to fix the file system errors on that drive.
Unfortunately the AcronisInfo report came with blank logs, most likely there was a permissions issue while it was running. To get to the bottom of this, can you please compress the contents of this folder: documents and settings\all users\applicatioin data\acronis\trueimage and send me a private message with the compressed archive attached. I will be able to study the logs.
At the moment, ISOLINUX CDs for older versions of Acronis are not available for downloads from the Acronis web-account, we are however working to fix this problem. Were you able to receive my private message and download the ISO file?
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.

The FAT16 drive is the one I am trying to back up to the SATA drive. I looked in the trueimage directory and the log folder is empty. I was able to download the ISO file? Now what?

Hello David Wojcik,
Thank you very much for getting back to me.
I recommend performing a chkdsk /r on the FAT16 drive and try running the backup from Windows.
With the bootable rescue CD that I sent you a link for via a PM, can you kindly boot from it and try creating a backup.
One of the reasons there are no logs in the logs folder is because the backup freezes and no logs are created. Another reason could be that the computer was rebooted via a hard reset.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you.
