"Operations"

Thread needs solution

I have two Windows 7 computers on a home network, each with True Image 2015 installed. One computer opens True Image and I see "Operations" at the bottom of the screen. On the other computer I see "Options" where "Operations" should be. I want to use "Operations" on both machines. How do I find "Operations" on the machine that does not show it?

I should note that I got so annoyed with True Image 2015 that I uninstalled it from one machine. Later I reinstalled it and this is the machine that does not show "Operations" and by the way is unable to restore any of its previous backups. I have tried to "Add" a backup but nothing happens.
I just need a tip or two to get me moving again. By the way I am backing up to a networked Netgear ReadyNAS, doess that complicate things?

Fsatest thing to try is this. Start the install program again and see if it offers Repair as an optin. If so run the repair. See if that helps.

If that doesn't work. Unisntall, run the cleanup utility then install again.

Thanks for the suggestions Scott. I ran the install program and it offered 3 options one of which was repair. I selected Repair and it ran something called "Acronis Universal Boot Media Builder". When that finished successfully I selected Exit. I then started True Image 2015 and it looks the same. What was repair supposed to do and how? I get to see my backed up files on the networked Netgear ReadyNAS but TI 2015 never get to the offer Restore. Instead it seems to want to backup the already backed up files to the same place.

The repair will replace program files with new copies and update the program registry entries.

It sounds like you ran the installer for the media buidler but not the manie program.

Which one of these do I have to run to repair IT 2015?

This assumes you have previously logged in to Acronis.com gone to My Account and registered you serial numberand registered you serial number. If you haven't, then do that first.

Once that is done.
Go to Acronis.com, click on My Account, log in, Click on Get Updates, click on the + sing at start of Acronis True Image 2015 (not the Universal Restore), Click on the download for the latest build for your machine (windows or mac). IN the download that pops up on your screen (probably near bottom), click on the Save dial and select Save As then specify a place on your machine to save the installer. Then navigate to that place and double-click the installer.

I am trying to follow your advice right now, Sunday 11:45 hrs Eastern Daylight time in Canada. When I input the serial number, it says I am already registered. However it just has be going round and round registering. I cannot get past this cycle. One screen says I am registered and the next says I have no registered products. I remember registering when I first purchased the product. I will try some more but I need help.

Here is the serial number that is registered but can't re-register. Maybe you can check that it is legal and correct.

If the product is registered why does the site show that I have no products registered?

I don't work for acronis. I'm a product user on the fourms. I don't have any special access to the servers.

If your number is registered you don't have to register again. It's a requisite of downloading but it only has to be done...it sticks.
If you never registered it then you need to contact support or the person thst sold you the product.

I meant, if you never registered and you cant register now because web site says number already registered then, either Acronis registration is mixed up--so you should contact them, or someone sold you a used number (contact the vendor or the cops).

btw, did you try creating a backup task and then see if "options or operations shows up?

I just read your suggestion to try creating a back up task. It just so happens I had the same idea, so over last night I created a backup task. It took about 8 hours but maybe wireless is slower than wired. Anyway, "Operations" showed up!!

I did uninstall and reinstall TI 2015 but I don't think that made any difference.

I did contact tech help and asked if they could fix the website. They said they could not help since my 30 days of free help were long gone, and I said that they were not going to get any more money out of me. They also suggested that I contact the person who sold me the software, but since I bought it online, I never had contact with a human. I think the website problem is that when we bought Acronis we switched registration from my wife to me. That may have confused the site, or was not done properly by the techie. Still it would be nice to be able to get updates or repairs as needed.

It doesn't sound liek the site is confused but you have the wrong number, either your wife's or someone elses. If the number is registered under your wife's account, then just use that one to access. But you can't blame Acronis if you have a used number; they don't sell used numbers.

I paid full price for a new product key in Oct 2014. The vendor was Cleverbridge AG which operates an online shop on behalf of Acronis. I will try to enter the site using my wife's email account, also another email address that I may have used.

I entered my most commonly used email address, and was able to get a new password. I signed in with the new password and it turns out I have 5 products registered. So I should be able to get updates as necessary. Thanks again for the help. Bye
