Hello Acronis,

Today I got a big scare. My laptop was not connected to my docking station as usual and I tried to shut down my machine at around 2 am which is the time for the Acronis Image backup. I got the Operations are in progress .... blue screen.

After several shut downs and restarts which always resulted in Operations are in Progress .... I re-docked my laptop and to my great relief Windows 7 restarted.

My question is, did the above result in any damage to my Windows 7 environment? This is my main development laptop and I can't afford any further issues.

I do have an Acronis image from last night so I can always re-image my machine if necessary but before I go to that extent perhaps it's not necessary and my Windows 7 environment is fine?

Note: I have never re-imaged my machine with Acronis (have done so several times with Norton Ghost) so I would prefer not to take this step at this time as it entails another element of risk for me since I have no experience re-imaging with Acronis.

As a follow up question. Will this occur every time I shut down my machine if it's not connected to the docking station / external HDD after 2 am? If so, is there a work around?
