"Operations are in Progress" again!

Thread needs solution

This is the issue that causes the "Operations are in progress. Please wait..." during system shutdown.

I've been having this problem and reported it last December but there has been no fix for it yet.

I'm finding it a real nuisance now. I get it mostly after doing a full backup but I also get it sometimes after doing an incremental backup and even when I haven't run ATIH at all.

I don't have any of the settings like synchronization, timed backups etc. set. All I'm doing is the manual backup.

The longest backup I do takes around 45 minutes but I frequently have to wait 30 minutes to a couple of hours for this message to disappear. During which the disk activity light is flickering away constantly. I'm not in the habit of doing a forced system shutdown via the power button so this can be real pain when I have to do a quick reboot for some reason.

Can we please have some acknowledgement this is a bug or not and if it is being actively looked into to?

Thanks

Mark

When the message appears, ATI is finishing a task. Some unexpected tasks can be:
- the user has left the default validation task (backup options, advanced tab) scheduled in such a way that the task is supposed to run only when the computer is idle. In that case, the scheduled task tries to run when the computer shuts down,
- the user has a scheduled backup task, and the scheduler option is also set to run only when the computer is idle,
- the user has a task scheduled to run on shutdown (a validation or a backup).
