Is partition excluded during cloning lost on source disk?

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

I started cloning my old HDD to new SSD but I had to exclude whole partition to fit in into 240 GB. Now disk cloning process is in progress and in My Computer I can see that partition I excluded is not accesible. Is the data from this partition lost? I thought excluding will only prevent from cloning to the new disk and not change/destroy whole partition.

Thanks in advance.

The User Guide states:

Disk cloning and migration

This operation copies the entire contents of one disk drive to another disk drive

See the section in the User Guide on Excluding Items from Cloning which only speaks of excluding Files or Folders - you cannot exclude partitions using the Clone method.

If you want to create only specific partitions on your SSD drive, you will need to use Backup and Restore to do this, not Cloning.
