PC Display Problem

Build 5551. Backed up an Acer Aspire One 722 and recovered it to an identical Acer Aspire One 722.

The original computer has a "Mobile PC Display" with a resolution of 1366 x 768. The new computer had the same thing before the recovery, but now it has a "Generic PnP Monitor on Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" with a resolution of 1024 x 768.

Control Panel on each machine gives only one choice. The new computer's post-recovery display had stretched everything horizontally. Words and images are distorted. I cannot live with it. How do I fix this short of undoing the backup and abandoning Acronis altogether?

It sounds like your graphics adapter is no longer recognized. Check in Device Manager and see what you find there - you probably just need to reinstall the proper drivers for your graphics card. Why it got hosed I have no idea, but it should be a simple fix.
