Permanent backup does not permanently

Thread needs solution

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have True Image 2013. Grant me the permanent backup. The big problem is that after a few weeks or days no longer runs the permanent update. The program will continue in the background but there are no new updates created. I have to disable permanent update and re-enable it. Then it works again.

This is very annoying. Since it does not really stand that any new backups are created, I had already several data loss. I have to say I'm pissed off. Actually I bought the backup program, just to prevent such cases.

Does anybody advice what could have happened? And most importantly, how I avoid something in the future?

regards

Greetings,
I have the following suggestions. It is sometimes possible to break a back up task by editing it one or more times after creation. I would suggest starting over.

Delete the existing task. Create a new destination folder. Give it a meaningful name. Create a new back up task according your schedule/needs. Do not edit or change the task.  Monitor its progress.

Another common reason why scheduled task run for a while, then stop or fail is because of improper retention or deletion rules. Acronis does a pretty good job attempting to meet the needs of the majority of people and hardware currently available, but full compatibility cannot always be guaranteed. Sometimes a little troubleshooting is involved to make the product work under a given circumstance or situations.

The second problem relates to rules you may impose the the task or schedules. These are allowed. Keep in mind however, that you must have adequate disk capacity for retention or quotas if your tasks include these.

Grover's true images guides in the navigation pane to the left have some excellent examples.
