Please Help Me Decipher Log File

Thread needs solution

Attached are the logs for today. Can anyone tell me what caused these error messages and how to correct the problem?

your log contains about 18 occurances of:
error 1326 (Cannot log on with the specified credentials. The account probably does not exist or the password is invalid.)

Did you recently change a password, or drop an account?

Regardless of whether you did nor not I think the solution is the same.
When you define a new backup task there are two places where you can define username/password (logon credentials).

1) the panel behind hyperlink "archive location" from here you need to click the "browse" button. In the next panel presented there is a menu option for "authentication settings"

2) The panel behind hyperlink "scheduling" if you use any radio button besides "do not schedule" then you will be presented with a panel to specify runtime credentials.

Based on how I read the log file you have specified logon credientails in one (or both) of the above mentioned places and either the initial data entry was wrong or it was right at one time but the account now has a new password but the backup task(s) are trying to use the old value.

I would drop the existing tasks you have, and recreate the jobs from scratch taking care when specifying the logon credentials.
I think all jobs require the scheduling credentials but based on target location security you may not need to specify any credentials for the archive location.

I have both Admin and Limited users. I'm trying to set it up so the Limited users run the backup program with the Admin user being logged on or giving the Limited users the Admin password. Is this causing the problem and if so, how do I set it up to run correctly and without error messages? If it can't be done in TIHome is there another Acronis product that can do this?

Hello,

oracledba, thanks for your help, you're absolutely correct.

Morton, I have replied you at this thread.

Thank you.
