Please prompt for comments automatically when doing backups, and allow existing comments to be edited

Thread needs solution

Who is the jerk at Acronis who decided not to prompt the user for Comments in ATI 2010 when doing a backup, unlike previous versions? Do you know how frustrating it is to do a backup and then realize you forgot to add important comments? Especially when you don't realize it until you have made other system changes or made subsequent backups, so that it is too late to waste time making the backup over?

Are you TRYING to make your paying customers hate you as much as possible? Please change this awful behavior back to how it used to be.

And when the !@#$ are you going to allow users to edit comments for existing backup files? Are you really so insane as to think users don't want this ability?

Not that I expect anyone at Acronis to care at all about their customers or pay attention to their feedback (based on how low the product's quality has sunk).

John, Please note the attached image shows that comments can be edited on a previously created backup. These changed comments only apply to this specific backup. Click image to enlarge size.

Should you want to change the comments in backups yet to be created, you can use the Edit task function and modify the comments to be used in future backups.

Thanks. I see it now by doing Recovery. But they still need to prompt the user for Comments in the default backup flow.

Hello all,

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

John, I have forwarded your request to the responsible person. Most likely, this feature will be implemented in the next versions of Acronis software.

GroverH, thank you very much for your help.

Please reply to this thread if you have any additional comments or questions.

Thank you.

Yes, I would concur
From the scheduled tasks window, an option to change the comments should be available from the Right Click context menu the same as a "schedule change" has it own change function.

Having such an option should be possible without the program making any change in the backup location or backup file number.
