Please wait message shown for ages when trying to restore an image

Thread needs solution

Good evening everybody,

This is my first topic on this forum and I am pretty confident that one could assist me.

When I try to restore an existing image to my SSD hard disc, I get the "please wait message" displayed for a very looooooooong period.

At some point, I need to reboot the computer without being able to restore the image.

More strangely, at the next launch of the application, I can restore normally the image.

I don't know if someone has ever experienced the same issue, and if so, I would be very interested to know how it was solved ?

Thanks and very best wishes from cold Switzerland

Welcome to the forum. The best chance of success when restoring is to Boot into the Acronis Recovery CD and attempt the restore when booted from the CD.

Hello Grover,

Thanks for the advice, which I will take into consideration for the future.

Have a great day.

Best wishes,
Laurent

I am having the same issue. I am restoring from a backup with many incremental backups, if that's a factor. When I select the backup to restore, I get "Please wait..." for hours and hours. I tried a restore from the Recovery CD but it restored only the first backup of the series (almost a year old), not the latest backup.

How long can I expect it to take after selecting the backup to restore? Many hours does not seem correct.
