Plus Pack Questions

Thread needs solution

I'm not that good with the computers but here is what I would like to know if it could be done.

My main pc is running win7 64 bit and on that I have Acronis 11 True Image Home I back up my OS to a external hard drive.

My laptop is also running win7 64 bit and on that I have the latest build Acronis 2013.

1st question:
If I purchase the Acronis 2013 Plus Pack and install it on my laptop would I be able to go to my external hard drive and install the OS from my PC onto my Laptop? (I have a lot more software on the PC) so it would save me $$

2nd Question:
If I was able to install my PC OS onto my Laptop then what version of Acronis would I have on it? My pc Acronis 11 of would my Laptops 2013 remain installed on it? If it stayed the 11 version on my laptop could I just reinstall the 2013 version???

3rd question.
On my laptop I have the True Image 2013 and in there I see it has the clone disc feature. I also have a external Thermaltake hard drive doc. Now If I pulled my C: drive from my PC and put in the doc and connected that to my laptop could I clone the OS from my PC to my Laptop?

4th question:
On my PC I have multiple HD's and one id a dedicated back up drive that I have tried to turn off and can not. If I installed my PC's OS on my single drive Laptop would that create a issue?

My PC is running Win 7 64 Bit Home premium
Sp 1
Intel core I7
My Laptop is running Win 7 64 Bit Home Premium
Intel Core I 3.

Is there a actual Acronis pre sales or tech support that I can call w/o a charge?

I have tried the chat which usually gets me confused as all they do is send me links that are just general.

TIA,
J

Yes. With the Plus Pack, you enable Universal Restore on a newly create recovery media. The technical process is to restore the image of your desktop on your laptop. Since both are running Win7 64 bit, it will be easy for you to get the drivers that ATI will ask during the Universal Restore process. These drivers are in the Windows/System32/Drivers and Windows/System32/SysWOW64 folders.

You can reinstall you 2013 version. It should reactivate automatically.

No you can't because the resulting disk will not have the right drivers for your laptop and it will blue screen at startup. You have to use Universal Restore.

After 30 days, there is a fee for support.

Thanks all, I did try it and then only thing that happened was that my laptop would only open to what ever the repair screen was. I would click on the auto repair which said it would take several minutes and at that point it just stayed there.

Acronis gave me my money back. As a newbee to this I wish that they had it some what simplified. Perhaps I should of not used the boot disc that I made for the Acronis 2013 and should of used a different disk for the Add on pack (universal boot disc??) as I think that is what you were saying.

The reason I wanted to know if this could be done was that my HD was on its way out (bad sectors) and Dell was replacing it so the laptop was sent out yesterday.

When I get it back perhaps I will buy another license and try it again. Hopefully the only issue was that I used the wrong Boot Disc?????
