Poor scheduling options

I have just abandoned Carbonite, because the scheduling on their software appears to be incapable of working, and this aspect is really important to me. I would like to be able to control when and for how long the online backup works, and I would like to be able to set up a schedule that is different depending on whether it is a weekend or a working day.

Carbonite claims to be able to do this, but it evidently doesn't work.

Being a long term user of Acronis backup software, I thought I would give their online service a trial. Unfortunately the scheduling aspect of the software is incredibly basic, and nowhere near sophisticated enough for I would have thought were fairly straightforward requirements.

Getting it to run "once a day" or "every two hours" would seem to make sense for a traditional backup service, but for an online service that wouldn't seem to be in the slightest bit suitable.

Am I the only one that thinks that? Is this approach likely to change in future?
