A positive note
As others have said, reading this forum can give one a skewed perspective on the quality and serviceability of TIH; so let me note I have just installed TIH 2010 latest on Windows 7 32-bit without issue, and used it successfully for both full and incremental image backups. I have restored a system image (from Windows) and mounted, browsed, and searched my incremental backups. Not only does everything I need appear to work, but it seems to me that 2010 loads much faster than 2009 and is even a little more attractive.
I also want to say I am delighted by the recent increase in participation by Acronis personnel. I have been reading this forum for four years now, and I have not seen this level of, yes, support. And I find the presence of Mr. Frost, with his honest and straightforward language, very heartening.
Finally I want to note (with all the talk of competitive products) that there is one feature that AFAIK only Acronis has: the ability to search a collection of images with a wildcard file spec. It seems there is little or no mention of this feature, and when it was broken across two major releases only I seemed to care; but it allows me to find all the previous versions of a given file across months of incremental images, and has saved me more than once. I think this is something Acronis could make more of, to distinguish itself in an increasingly crowded market.
