Possible to Access/Restore Data from Incremental Backup WITHOUT Original Version?

Thread needs solution

Hi

Had a crappy incident occur where a few of the original incremental backup files were deleted, including the original and only full backup. Unfortunately I didn't even realize they were deleted until the HDD died and I went to do a restore.

All in all there are 11 files deleted (s1 - s11) out of a total of 26. I was wondering if possible to access/recover ANY of the data from the remaining incremental backup files (s12 - s26). Some I can see are as big as 76+ GB - which means there should still be a fair bit of data in there somewhere.

When I mounting them I get the error about missing versions. If I try opening using windows explorer, it just hangs with blank window endlessly "loading".

Do I have any options here?

Hi Jiva,

I hate to be the one to be the bearer of bad news, but without a full, there is no possibility to recover any data from an incremental.  Incrementals rely on the original full as the starting point and then all incrementals that cam before them.  If you at least had the full, you could return to that.  Then, if you had incrementals on top of that, you could recover up to the first missing file, but nothing beyond that.

Could you post a screenshot of the file names in Windows Explorer so we can verify what you have, perhaps, you're just not seeing the files you need.  Don't delete anything yet, until we can take a look - there's a possibility the files are actually tehre, but you're just having an issue with the program reading them.  We'll know more with the screenshot(s) though.
