Post Installation Scheduler Failed to Start (then it does!)
Hi, this is more of an irritation than a serious problem.
I recently updated from Home 2012 to Home 2012 Update 2 build 7119.
The installation went OK no errors. On subsequent reboots & every time I power on I get a message to say that the scheduler failed to start.
I can click a highlighted line in this message that says "recover from the problem". If I don't get to this in time the message box disappears.
When I check the service, it is running, albeit with Automatic (delayed start) as the startup type.
It may be that in the past I have changed startup types to delayed start on a number of items because they don't actually need to be running as a matter of urgency (unlike say an AV program) but prior to this update I didn't have any problems.
I'm running Vista Home Premium SP2 fully patched, 4Gb RAM AMD Athlon X2 64.
My backups run OK so not a serious problem.
If there is a fix for this then if someone can tell me what it might be then great. Otherwise I will experiment with the startup options.
TIA
