Post process failure
Is it normal that the post process is not executed when ATIH 2010 terminates due to an error (e.g. network failure)?

Hello Ilya,
thanks a lot for your answer.
I think it would be a good idea to terminate TIH with a result code in case of an error and execute the post process afterwards so that the user can evalute the reason for the termination and make the post process react accordingly.
It would also be helpfull to have an option to run the shell processes in visible mode to allow the user to react on possibly reqiured user interventions.
Thank you
Sem

I tried to make a back-up to hard disc with Aconis 11. I watched the progress get to 2 green bars and the LCD screen went blank and the computer stopped running. I have tried to re-boot but the computer will not excecute the POST...no beeps of any kind. Power is indicated by fans running and power light on.
Fortunately I was able to make a full back-up previously to an external (USB) HD . So if I get acronis working I can re-install my system.
I have an Acronis boot disc but it will not work until I get past the POST. I have no idea what do about it.
My system: AMD Phenom II Black Edition quad core. 300GB HD. 8GB ram. Windows 7 64-bit.
I am pretty much stuck now. Any ideas that would help?

Try removing power to the computer for at least a minute and then reconnect the power and see if it will boot. Some computers will get stuck and require a cold boot to reset them.

Hello all,
First of all, I'd like to thank MudCrab for his help.
Henry, in addition to MudCrab's suggestion, I may recommend you to check BIOS settings on your PC since there can be some issues. You can just reset those setting to defaults and check if the issue persists.
semko, I've forwarded your request to the appropriate department. Please also keep in mind that currently interactive commands, i.e. commands that require user input, are not supported.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Thank you.

Thank you MudCrab, I did in fact try that but it didn't help. I appreciate your taking the time to reply.

Thank you Ilya, I did a BIOS reset and I got my system back. Right away I did a backup to my external USB drive, which worked before. I haven't tried to do a backup to my internal HD again. I still don't understand what happened. Why is it that I can backup to my external drive and not to my internal drive? And why did my BIOS get trashed when I tried? Of course I haven't tried to do it again, but I will soon, I just want to enjoy my computer for a while before I face that again. Scared the hell out of me.

Hello Henry,
Unfortunately, it's really hard to assume what caused the issue and was it Acronis True Image or something else. We've never been informed about such issued during the backup process.
Anyway, I'm really glad that you've managed to fix the issue and your PC is up and running.
Please reply to this thread if you have any additional questions.
