Problem booting into Windows after Restoring an Image

Thread needs solution

After restoring a backup image of my OS disk (a mirrored raid array) using Acronis True Image 9 Home when I try to boot the OS I get a BSOD, with an error code of STOP: 0x7B (0xB84C72524. 0x34, 0x0, 0x0). I am also unable to boot into safe mode. However when I boot to the Acronis CD and then select the 'Start Windows' option the OS loads with no problems. Does anyone know what's going on here? What is the Acronis loader doing differently?

After some more trouble shooting it looks like the problem was that the Windows array was not the 'first' drive know to BIOS, and we all know how Windows likes to be first. After removing other drives from the MB and then adding them back in 1 by 1 I had no issues.

I would still like to know if the Acronis loader is doing something similar to make Windows think it is the first drive similar to what I've seen done using GRUB, if only for curiosities sake.

One rule from experience is on first bootup following the cloning or restoring, only one disk can be attached. Either the clone or the source but not both. After first bootup and recognition, then the second disk can be attached as a additional disk.
