Problem with Non Stop Backup

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have the following Problems with Nonstop Backup in the 2011 version. In Windows I tried to recover my system partition but in the Acronis software I could only chose to recover single files or folders using the nonstop backup. I tried then the recovery with the boot CD. First, it seemed to work - I could choose volumes to restore but then the software wanted me to chose a new volume for saving the restore! I dont understand that. I thought the nonstop backup would be usable like the normal backups.
After all I had to chose an older full-backup I made manual a feew weeks ago. I was surprised that I could restore only whole volumes, respective complete HDDs.
I'm absolutely confused about this behavior. Can anyone explain me what I'm doing wrong?

When you restore a volume/disk/partition, it goes in 2 steps: first, you select "what" you want to restore, then you select "where" you want to restore it.

It is possible to restore only a partition from a set of partitions.

When you use the CD:
- ATI is asking for the "new location" (or something along these lines, from the top of my head); that is the destination ("where"),
- ATI is showing drive/partition letters that might be different from Windows, so pay attention to drive/partitions labels.
