Problem with Notebook HP dv8 x64 True Image

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I'm French and I do not speak English very well, I use a translator, is what some members are French on this forum?

I hope you understand me.

I have a real problem with an HP Notebook dv8 and excellent Acronis True Image.
The HP dv8 is Windows 7 x64.

True Image has always started in 2010 when I launched with my USB drive to a backup job or restore on any other PC (even on my old HP dv7)

And there on the HP dv8, it starts well above, I select True Image at startup, it gives me the logo and True Image is everything, after the screen stays black instead of coming on the interface for the backup and restore.

I understand what happens, could you help me?

Thank you!

Are you booting from the Rescue CD?

If you are using the Rescue CD then your problem is that the CD doesn't have the correct drivers for your new HP DV8.

If you have registered your purchase with Acronis, you can download the 'safe' version of the rescue CD or you can download an ISO version.

The safe version needs to be installed on a computer and then a new rescue CD made. When you boot from the CD you will have an extra choice to use 'safe' mode - this may allow True Image to run.

The ISO has different drivers to the ones that come with True Image, so again burning this to a CD may also work for you.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply so fast!

I have True Image Home 2010, and I create the bootable media on my USB key, and I also made an ISO image.

But apparently, from what you say, I have downloaded from Acronis new software 'safe' to create the ISO, this software includes new drivers is what you mean?

Where can I find in Acronis software?
It complements True Image 2010?

Thank you for responding.
Kevin

PS: Sorry, I'm French, you explain very well, but I want to be sure I understood.

I have attached two images for you to look at.

The first one is the SAFE option, this just works differently to the standard rescue option.

The second the ISO does have different drivers.

Log in to your account at www.acronis.fr . If you haven't registered your copy of True Image then register it and then you'll have access to the above files - see image 3.

It is an addition to the CD.

Ok!
Thank you very much!

To my hp dv8, if I take only the new bootable media it will work then?

BartPE and Safemedia will serve me something??

Thank you in advance!

The BartPE is different to the Safemedia (even though they are in the same download). BartPE uses Microsoft based OS and drivers, and so should work if the Acronis SafeMedia or ISO don't.

However there is more work in setting up Bart PE and also requires another download from the BartPE website.

I think either Mudcrab or DwnNdrty have a link to how to make a VistaPE boot disk with Acronis (BIG download - WAIK 7 is 1.66GB download), however as these use Windows drivers, then they will definitely work with your system.

I suggest burning the SafeMedia or ISO to a CD RW, that way you haven't wasted a CD if it doesn't work.
