Problem restoring image

Thread needs solution

I have an image of my C drive on the D drive which is a seperate hard disk in the computer. When I try to recover, after selecting the backup etc the computer reboots and this is what I see:

Starting Acronis Loader
Loading, please wait ......
no raid disks

an nothing further happens!

How do I restore the C drive from the image?

I have tried booting from a bootable flash drive but with the same result.

Any idea how I can restore my computer from the image.

Hello DG,

I use the TIH 2014 Recovery CD/DVD that can be made from within the TIH program.
I have tested the restore of a drive image for both Win8.1 and Win 7/64 with good results.
Never tried a restore from a flash drive and would recommend that you try the restore from the recovery disc.
BUT..... I did experience a failure once where the recovery process would not allow me to choose the destination drive.
That error was determined to be that the disk image was created while a sector flaw existed on the OS disk.
After a scan of the disk with the fix option and receating the image, a restore was performed successfully.

Your results indicate the default Linux recovery media doesn't support your hardware, so it can't boot. Your best option is to create an optional WinPE recovery media and try again.

This is becoming way too big of an issue. It's time Acronis stopped using the Linux recovery media and went to WinPE as the default.
