Problem syncing 2 pc's
I am still running true image home 2012 on two pc's running windows 7. In late december they stopped syncing with the message that i have to update my online subcription. I never had an online subscription nor do i save or backup to Acronis cloud. Am I now being forced to get a cloud subscription in order to sync two pc's on the same network?

Issue resolved. Acronis pushed me to start using OneDrive. PC's now sync'd and results are more consistent and reliable. :)

For everyone's clarification, Acronis does not push use of One Drive (a Microsoft product) for back Up or Sync. While the option to use a network destination is optional in Acronis, One Drive is a microsoft product and is not an Acronis back up destination unless it is installed by the user on the same system as Acronis.

My attempt to use Acronis Home Image 2016 and the Ancronis Cloud for sync of PCs on the local network has consumed many hours on both my and Acronis support staff.
I did not get any support when I extended my 2016 HI sync questions to why Acronis HI 2014 suddnely stopped syncing in Dec 2015 "Server not available". "Acronis Home Image 2014 is no longer supported" was the advice.
When I requested a refund it was provided without complaint but did trigger requests for feedback.
I did communicate with the feedback managers and an acceptable price for Acronis Cloud to support local network PC sync was offerred. I also was informed that the local PC sync function had issues.
Then suddenly about 5 days ago, when I went to configure the reinstalled Acronis HI 2014, I was advised of an update. And hey presto, Sync between local network PCs works again. Account logon is still required. As the Acronis Cloud trial subscription from a trial Acronis HI 2016 (second attempt to test if the "the issues" had been resolved), it is not clear if HI 2014 will continue to work for local sync if an Acronis Cloud subscription is not maintained. The user documentation for the unsupported 2014 states local sync is independant of a Cloud subscription.
Local internet is not good enough for backup and sync via Acronis Cloud.
I like the product and have subscribed and upgraded multiple times since 2010. If the issues can be fixed, I will be tempted to upgrade including an Acronis Cloud subscription as part of local netwrok sync (but not at US$99 per PC - I'm retired).

Hello George,
As I understand, you woud like to create a synchronisation between your 2 PCs, but you have an error message "Server not available".
Unfortunately the synchronisation is available only if you have a Cloud subscription.
Please, pay your attention, that actully there is some promo on our Website. I see that you have several Acronis Products so, you can also contact Acronis Customer Central and ask for discount for this new version https://kb.acronis.com/content/8153.

All,
If you want sync without a cloud subscription, consider third party tools since Acronis does not offer this natively with their own application (outside of those with cloud services - however, even then, the Acronis Sync, must first sync to the cloud so may not be ideal for everyone either).
Microsoft has command line "robocopy" which is already built into windows and will work for most people who just want to have an exact copy of folders or drives in 2 locations. Here are examples I've posted before:

If that doesn't work for you, try something like Allway Sync which has a free verssion that works very well for home use. There are other free applications that will do the same thing, but I like this one.
