problems with TI Home 2011

Thread needs solution

Hi folks

I have True Image Home 2011 installed on Win 7 Ult and have a couple of problems:

1: when I start TI I get a windows dialogue asking if I want to let this application alter my system, surely a properly installed program should not create this responce from the OS?
Have I missed something in the installation perhaps?

2: when selecting files/folders for backing up each click on a selection box causes the program to go into a non responsive state for around 60 to 90 seconds, this makes setting up a backup painful, is there a way round this?
In fact the program is very unreponsive to pretty much ANY adjustment!

I do not have the fastest of machines but this is surely not the way the program should work.
Intel Core 2 6300 @1.86GHz with 2GB memory. Win 7 Ult.

Cheers
Bob

Bob,

1 - If it's the standard User Account Control (UAC) prompt, it's perfectly normal.

2 - I have not seen that problem personally, with TI. I have seen other programs do that if the tree is large. Does it make a difference if you select/unselect an almost empty folder instead of one with lots of files/folders in it?

Are you using the latest build of TI 2011 (5,519)?

It's possible some other program may be causing problems with TI or maybe TI didn't get installed correctly. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling TI?
