Problems Transferring Cloned Image
Hi,
I am currently assisting to transfer the cloned image of an existing working (fresh with software and settings configured) HP EliteBook to another HP EliteBook (fresh out of the box) to save onboarding setup timing. The 2 pieces of hardware are exactly identical.
The version of the software used is Acronis TrueImage Home 2011.
Previously, all operations went well for all past models (latest being HP ProBook) and have never had any problems with the new cloned sets.
With the EliteBook, the cloned image results in a failure to even boot from the cloned EliteBook.
The key suspect is boiled down to probably the existence of a Flash Disk (which could not be detected during the clone copy, resulting in inability to clone onto the child). A copy of the Disk Drives on this system is as attached.
All software used are genuine copies, and the OS in question is Windows 7.
Could it be due to a versioning of Acronis issue that resulted in the failure to detect the Flash Drive, resulting in improper cloning (=failure to boot)?
Hope an expert / experienced user help.
:)

Hello Timothy,
You haven't provided enough information. Is this a hybrid drive configuration?
You use the word "cloned' image in your post, but are you cloning from one disk to another, or restoring a disk image from one machine to another?
Updating to a more current version of ATIH might be wise. I'm not saying it will solve this proble, but will certainly ensure compatibility and support of current hardware.
Also, you can download a trial version of ATIH free to test with your existing hardware. Select trial.
