Prompted for credentials when trying to explore file backup from W7 mounted drive

Thread needs solution

When I try to explore a file backup of files backed up from a W7 mounted drive, I am prompted for credentials. The dialog box that is presented is titled "Authentication Settings". This dialog shows the "Path: \\?", "User name", "Password". When I enter my user name and password and click the "Connect" button it responds with "Connection failed". From that point I cannot go forward. I can open the backup version file with Windows Explorer. The files that are in this backup exist on a Windows 7 mounted drive. This drive is mounted in a sub-folder of a Windows folder.

All my backups, including the one I am having a problem with, are stored on a NAS and complete successfully. I can access the my disk image backup from this NAS without any problem. It is only the file backup which I have problem with.

I have been unable to find anything that say ATI does not support mounted drives in its backups. Help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I am not in an crisis situation now, but I would like to have this resolved before I am.

Thanks.

It is better to use the full network path \\server\folder\backup.tib to indicate the destination, or to unfold the network folder, enter your authentication settings, then open the right folder in the left navigation panel, then enter the archive name.
Do not use a mounted disk.

I do use the full network path of my NAS to complete the backup successfully. The problem comes when I try the access my backups through the ATIH interface. It results in the the dialog that appears in the attached screen capture. This volume is mounted to a folder that is located in "My Pictures" folder. It appears that this mounted volume confuses the ATIH interface. The ATIH interface finds the NAS, presents the backup but, when I try to drill down into the link marked as "Volume{851..." I can't go any further.

Can someone in Acronis Customer Support address this issue?
Thanks
