Protect Backup
I am intending to use ATI as the vehicle to backup 3 users data onto a central (router linked) HDD. Because there are thee users accessing the drive, and it will be in a semi-public location, I would like to protect the contents. I want to be able to easily add backups to the system in the background using the Acronis scheduler, with no user intervention other than the initial setup. I will set the scheduler to backup once a week, and to carry out the backup at a later time if the device is not connected.
It seems to me that I can either encrypt or password protect. My reading of the manual suggests that the encryption approach will require a password to be entered by the user every time the backup is carried out. Is this correct? If so, it will not do what I want.
Testing both approaches seem to indicate that in neither case is the password required when adding to the backup, only when amending the rules or browsing it.
Can someone confirm this?
