Question about cloud subscrptions

Thread needs solution

I had a question about the cloud subscriptions. I have a Windows Vista machine, but I will be getting a Windows 10 machine over the next holiday season if not earlier. I now have Acronis 2013. My question is if I activate or get a cloud subscription (I want the "Unlimited" subscription), does this mean I get 2016 or 2017 version when I upgrade my computer, and will it work if I upload my backed-up files with 2013 and restore my files to Windows 10 with the 2016 or 2017(depending which version is available)?  Will this work?

I just wasn't sure if I could do that or that's what the cloud subscription meant about new versions being for free, since I'm paying for cloud storage.

Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Katherine Logan

PS, I'm planning on getting the subscriptions sometime in August. My subscription lapsed so the cloud was wiped, but I hadn't saved anythng to the cloud anyway. I just had those questions before I renew my subscription to the cloud.  Thanks again!

Hello Katherine,

Currently we are selling two types of licenses for Acronis True Image: Acronis True Image 2016 a perpetual license without Cloud and Acronis True Image Cloud - 1 year suscription which includes both local and Cloud backup. BTW we are releasing Acronis True Image 2017 very soon, I'd recommend you to install a trial version of Acronis True Image 2017 once it's released. I'll post a separate anounce on forum.

For more infrmation on upgrade ways to the current product version please refer to the following article.

Here you'll find archive compatiility across different Acronis True Image versions. With Acronis True Image 2016 you can restore backups created by Acronis True Image 2013.

Thank you,
