Question about transferring Win 7 to new hardware.
I currently have a Pentium II 2.1Ghz machine running Windows 7 (64-bit). I'm building a new system around the AMD 555 X2 (possibly unlocked to 4 cores, I don't know yet). I had some problems with my first Windows 7 installation and had to call MS's tech support, who gave me some kind of weird product key. It's not the normal product key sequence but something they drummed up for special circumstances, or beautiful people. Anyway there's something "non standard" about it that I don't quite get.
What I'd like to do is migrate my curret Win7 application onto the same kind of drive on the new AMD computer, and then manually change the product key to another Win 7 media license I bought. I gather the Plus Pack is set up to to that sort of thing, but do I basically jsut clone the system from an INTEL MOBO to an AMD MOBO? And then just enter the new product key and activate it.
Can this be done without a huge hassle?

In case anyone else has a similar question:
You can use either the backup utility or the clone drive option to migrate from one machine to another. In either case the automatic version will partition the target drive (whether smaller or larger) to the same proportions as the original. In my case I'm moving from a single drive system to a larger dual drive RAID setup, so the backup file works better. I can then restore to a RAID system, and afterwards enter a new Windows activation key (assuming I'm keeping the old install as well). After the new system starts it will install the correct Windows drivers for the new hardware.
