Question on Acronis 11 - Warning Message
Good afternoon!
When I attempted to restore my C: drive (which contains my Windows 7 OS) I received a message that doing the restore might result in my computer not being able to boot up.
Obviously not what I had in mind!
I have 3 questions hopefully Acronis can answer.
1)What do I need to do to insure that the drive will be bootable when I do the restore from this backup - this was a full partition backup.
2)What do I need to do to restore a full bootable copy of this backup to a new disk?
3)What do I need to do to restore a full bootable copy of this backup to a new SSD drive? I understand that I may need some sort of Arconis add on program but I couldn't find on your web site.
Thanks!

Scott,
Thanks for your response! You are correct - I screwed up the title I did mean True Image 2011!
When I did the backup I went to the main "Welcome" screen, from there I chose "Go to main screen" clicked the "Disk and partition backup" and chose the "Local Disk (C) option.
Does that include all partitions?

Yes, that should get you everything, including MBR, the system partition (with the boot window manager) and the logical drives. Just be sure you're not merely selecting a partition backup and only backing up the C: logical drive and missing all the other good stuff.

Thanks again Scott.
The problem is I received a message that doing the restore might result in my computer not being able to boot up.
Since the drive is still bootable I really don't want to screw things up further if it really could result in the computer not being able to boot...

I didn't use ati2011 for very long so my memory fails me on why this waring would come up if doing a full restore.
See pages roughly around 80 in userguide
http://www.acronis.com/support/documentation/legacy.html
and see if this is how your trying to restore
Does your pc have only w7 installed an no other os?
Did you begin the restore from within windows or from the Bootcd (recommended)?
