Questions regarding SSD's

Thread needs solution

I just installed an SSD as my C drive using the supplieed boot cd. The cd booted to
Acrons True Image HD. The drive is booted and is remarkably fast.

Before I used the included boot cd, however, I thought that since I already owned
Acronis True Image Home 2010 I could use my boot cd from that to restore an
image that I just created from my SATA C. Acronis True Image Home 2010
said that my image files were not valid. I know for a fact that they are as I used
ATIH 2010 to restore my latest backup to another SATA drive and then booted from it.

So, my questions are this:

1. Can I use ATIH 2010 that is functioning on the SSD to Backup (create an image) of the SSD?

2. If I can use ATIH 2010 to backup my SSD, can I then use my boot CD from ATIH 2010
to restore to a SATA drive?

3. If I can use ATIH 2010 to backup my SSD, can I then use my boot CD from ATIH 2010
to restore to a new SSD?

4. What is the difference between ATIH 2010 and ATI HD?

My current version is ATIH 2010 build 6053

Since SSD's are expensive I would like to avoid having to purchase another in the
event my current SSD develops a problem.

Thanks for advice

Somebody out there has to be using SSD'S?

Acronis folks, you should be able to answer this.

I can't answer your questions but there have been numerous postings about the use of SSD's. In the search field at the top of the forum, enter
How to clone an SSD
and it will provide you with numerous links where the SSD is discussed. While you may not be interested in cloning, the links cover more than just that topic.

Tried your suggestion and got "Search returned no results"

Thanks.

I'll browse through them and see if I can find my answers.

I will probably do some of my own testing however to verify that
my concerns can be answered.

Judging by screenshots in the internet, HD is an OEM version of TI home 11 (the version before TI 2009), and that can be a reason why it's unable to recognize archive made by TI 2010. Also it most likely doesn't make a best partition alignment for optimal SSD performance (does TI 2010 do it?)

I'm not sure exactly how to check that. And yes, 2010 is supposed to do it.
