RAID0 [don't know if software/hardware] and Acronis True Image Home 2013

Thread needs solution

Greetings,

I'm newbie, so I hope I'm in a good section. I'm about to purchase Acronis True Image Home 2013, for Home use. I'm done with constant recreating my windows installation each two years or so. So my question is. I'm running GA Z77X-UP7 with 2x Intel 520 120 GB @ raid0. Is Acronis True Image Home 2013 capable of copying my disk data to image file and right after deploy them back intact to another raid0 array?

As I said, I have no idea how does the hardware raid array look like, due fact I only use those onboard raids,

Please advise,

Regards

Bryan

Bryan,

If your RAID is hardware based you can just use True Image, if it is software based you will need to purchase the Plus Pack as well.

If you set your RAID up in your BIOS you have hardware RAID but most often it acts like software based RAID, if you set it up in Windows it is software RAID.

True hardware RAID will use it's own controller and is often an add in card on a PC.

What PC or motherboard do you have?

Greetings Mr. Coli B.

Thank You for Your ultra fast response to my question. I'm actually running on Gigabyte Z77X-UP7 using Intel's RAiD array [fur superrior raid0 performance] and on Microsoft Windows 7 x64 [legal & updated].

Is it software, or hardware raid? Do I need to purchase the PLUS version of Your product, or will "normal" version suffice?

Thank You in advance for Your eventual reply,

Kind regards

Bryan

Bryan,
In addition to Colin's post...

We assume you are using the RAID 0 functionality of the z77 chipset? If so, create an Acronis Boot CD and test to see if your RAID array can be properly detected as a single disk? If the drives are seen separately, you will need the plus pack version add on and will need to create a win PE boot disk with drivers for your storage controller configuration.

If the drives are seen "correctly" as a single disk, the standard version of Acronis should be able to create a back up without any issues.

shadowsports - Thank You very much for Your explanation! I'm gonna hit it tomorrow.
