I've messed up my netgear readynas server and my data is in danger, now i'm left with my original 500GB SATAII hdd which i've to backup before trying anything.

I just have laptop and old acronis software (i think 2005 version). I'm thinking to buy two SATA to USB adapters from ebay to connect my old 500GB hdd and a new Samsung F3 1TB hdd. I'll then use the acronis clone to do the clonning, just want to check if i'm missing anything? or will i face any problem from acronis? Many Thanks

A version of True Image released in 2005 isn't going to see Sata drives. You'll have to get at least the Trial version of the latest.
