Rebuilding Logs and existing backups in the TIH ASZ

Thread needs solution

Snapman BSOD, TIH uninstall and reinstall, and ASZ backup images.

I am having the snapman.sys BSOD problem. One solution I have read is to uninstall and reinstall TIH. If I do that, what happens to the logs and the existing TIH backups I have created in the Acronis Secure Zone? Can I reload them after the new TIH has been reinstalled? Will the reinstall recognise the existing ASZ partition? Or will it pretend it doesn't exist and try to re-create it again?

Thanks!

You will lose the logs, but you will not lose the backup files.
When you uninstall, do not request the ASZ to be deleted.
After you have reinstalled, you can let ATI rediscover the existing backup files, or add them back manually. You can even recreate the backup settings.

A preferred and safer way would be:
- export your existing backup settings,
- use the "move" command to get your existing backup files out of the ASZ. You could store them in a hidden directory temporarily for safekeeping.
- uninstall 2013,
- reboot,
- reinstall 2013,
- import your backup settings, and recreate new backup chains in the ASZ,
- when they get old enough, delete the backup you saved manually.
