In recover mode, reboots after choosing to recover

Thread needs solution

I use Acronis True Image and needed to recover my laptop with a new hard drive. I made the bootable CD, booted from it, chose to recover and picked the recovery image from a USB hard drive. As soon as I right click and choose Recovery, the screen blanks out and reboots to the CD.

This is a Dell Vostro 1720 laptop, less than a year old. I am using a Western Digital Scorpio 500 gb system drive that I am trying to recover to. There are 4 gb of ram in this system.

Thank you for any help.

What version and build of TI are you using?

You might want to try downloading the SAFE environment and or the ISO version of the rescue CD.

The SAFE version requires installation and a new CD burnt. You will then get a choice when you use the CD for Full or Safe version. Safe version access your system differently to the full version.

The ISO version uses a different Linux kernel and drivers. The ISO version is updated more frequently than the built in Linux version.

You problem sounds like a drive one or a TI accessing your hardware one, so you may have better luck using the other options I mentioned.
